Soothe razor burn with aspirin.

Used topically, the pain reliever’s salicylic acid calms post-shave redness, inflammation, and irritation. In fact, one study found that applying a paste made of aspirin decreased the pain of inflamed skin by 96 percent in mere minutes. The jelly’s petrolatum creates a film that seals moisture into the upper layers of skin, hydrating dry, rough spots, stat. And mixing it with exfoliating sugar boosts the skin-softening results.

Try it: Mix ½ tablespoon of petroleum jelly and 2 teaspoons of sugar. Rub on rough patches for one minute, then remove with a damp washcloth.

The tannins in witch hazel have an astringent effect that temporarily tightens pores to cut down on sweat production. This also reduces the odor-causing bacteria that comes with sweat, so you’ll smell fresh all day.

Try it: Add witch hazel to a spray bottle and spritz onto areas of the body that get sweaty once a day or as needed.
