Relaina Smith and Lynette Draughn will present a Silhouette & Couture Fashion Show from 2 to 9 p.m. June 4, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 1125 Pinetree DrIve in New Bern.
Smith, a fashion designer and plus size model, said she wanted to bring something different to the area.
“I have done several events locally,” she said. “This time I wanted to do something different from the type of events I normally host. We have models who are coming from Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia and other places and we are hoping it will be something exciting to bring to our city.”
Smith said they are still seeking sponsorships and donations for the event. Anyone who is interested in participating can contact her directly.
Draughn is the owner of Superior Curves Boutique, 306 U.S. 70 West in Havelock. She opened the store in March 2018 and caters to plus size women. Her styles include urban, casual and everyday wear clothing, accessories, shoes.

Draughn, who designs and creates her own clothing, said she has been friends with Smith for more than 10 years.
“When Relaina came up with the idea of a fashion show, I was happy to jump on board,: she said. “It gives us an opportunity to get our styles and designs out to people who may not know we are here.”
The show will feature Unique Musick, a popular TikTok influencer with more than 670,000 followers who will be performing and presenting her new clothing line.
The show will be hosted by Myesha Nicole with music by Russell “DJ Seefoe” Canady.
Singer Phil Edmond will also be performing and music label executive Jaleel Cobb will be searching for the latest up and coming artist.
Other guests include local comedians Nick Mitchell and Johnnie “Two Cups” Smith, both of New Bern.
There will be more than 50 models will be featured in the show, modeling the latest styles and trendy outfits ranging in size from small to plus size.
Early bird tickets are $15. General admission tickets are $35 with VIP Couple tickets available for $100.
Following the show, refreshments will be served and there will be an open bar.
